What is Growth Mindset?

At Stoberry Park School we have completed extensive reading around the idea of developing Growth Mindsets with our children and in ourselves.

Growth Mindset is a clear understanding of how we learn.  It emphasizes the importance of practice in learning and develops the idea that new learning can be challenging and that we should not give up.

We introduce our children to individuals, past and present, who have displayed a strong sense of Growth Mindset to achieve their dreams and goals.  We also aim to develop a set of learning approaches to support children in terms of what to do when they appear not to be able to solve a problem.
